Bring Back The Death Penalty

Unbelievably, Ryan Herbert, from Bacup in Lancashire, one of a group of thugs who murdered Sophie Lancaster because she was dressed as a goth, and beat her boyfriend Robert Maltby to a pulp, has had his sentenced reduced.

Herbert received a life sentence and was to serve a minimum of 16 years and 3 months, but yesterday, the Lord chief Justice, Lord Judge, cut his prison term to 15 years and 6 months, as the sentencing judge failed to make a proper allowance for his age and because of his guilty plea.

Brendan Harris, 15, from Bacup, did not have his sentence reduced and will serve a minimum of 18 years.  The three other yobs, Danny, 16, and Joseph Hulme, 18, lost their appeal along with Daniel Mallett, 18, and will serve their original term

The judge had stated that it was a particularly horrific crime, so why reduce the sentence.  These thugs should never be allowed on our streets again, absolutely disgusting!

Where is the justice in that?  One thing I did agree on is that they shouldn’t be in prison as some of the comments suggested, they should have been given a very slow and painful death sentence!
