Lewis Singleton, 18 years old, was walking home with his friend, 19 year old Craig Smith in the Woolston area in the early hours of March 31st 2007. The pair were ambushed by a gang of five who jumped out of a parked car. Mr Smith managed to run away but Lewis did not and his friend looked back to see four of the men punching and kicking him until he fell on the floor.
Lewis managed to escape and run past his friend yelling to his friend he’d been stabbed, Mr Smith caught up with Lewis but he collapsed. Despite emergency services Lewis died later that morning in hospital.
Rikki Johnson, 19 years of age was convicted of the murder of Lewis, fellow defendants Sercan Calik,19 years old was unanimously convicted of the manslaughter of Lewis although he was cleared of murder and violent disorder. A 17 year old, was acquitted of both murder and manslaughter after the jurors failed to reach a verdict, has been named as Harvell Mason. A fourth teenager, 16, who has not been named was cleared of all charges
Now it has come to light that the murderer Rikki Johnson was actually on a night-time curfew as well as being electronically tagged the night he stabbed Lewis Singleton to death. He repeatedly broke his order banning him from leaving him Southampton home between the hours of 9pm and 7am.
Lewis Singleton’s mother has said “We live in a society where human rights and politically correct brigades are hell bent on giving people who commit violent crimes chance after chance”.
That poor woman, not only has she lost a beautiful son but she has to sit by and watch the scum that killed him living their life’s. She will never see him marry, or be a grandmother to his children. I hope that one day they will all get what they deserve, and I am sure that they will, its time to stand-up to these thugs.

it took 5 to bring lewis’ down so in our eyes all are guilty of murder they have to live with that only God can judge them . lewis was let down by the law ,for tagging to work if the offender breaks his/her curfew then put them straight back in a cell and wait for a court date dont give them a licence to do as they please while waiting!! (that might be against their human rights but they lose that when they break the law)R.J.broke his tag on 3 consecutive nights the police have no powers of arrest why? a court date was given to R.J. on 29th march for the 20th april THEY gave him a licence to do as he pleased for 3 weeks and ultimately gave him a licence to kill!!!! its too late for lewis but change the laws on tagging it might SAVE ANOTHER INNOCENT LIFE.

it took 5 of them to take lewis down so in our eyes all 5 are guilty of murder, only God can judge them now and they have to live with what they’ve done. the justice system let Lewis down . 1 refused to comment so was not in court (witnesses refused to name him and not enough evidence) 1 not guilty on all counts ( watch the others get quizzed in court so refused to stand) if hes innocent whats he got to hide. 1 murder charge 1 got manslaughter and one aquitted as jury could not decide ! .For tagging to work once the curfew is broken put them straight back in a cell and let them wait there for a court date .R.J.broke his curfew on 3 consecutive nights and on 29th march the day before lewis was murdered got a court date for 3 weeks LATER on 20th april that gave him a licence to do whatever he wanted and ultimately gave him a licence to KILL . THE POLICE HAVE NO POWERS OF ARREST FOR TAG BREAKERS we are still waiting for answers but of course we are only the victims family, probation and G4 securicor say they followed procedures there not working so change them before another INNOCENT LIFE IS LOST could they live with that I cant !!!!!!!!!!!!
