It has been reported in the newspaper today that a shopkeeper faces a murder charge after he put up a fight against a raider who was armed with a knife.
Liam Kilroe, who has a string of convictions, such as assault, burglary, possession of an offensive weapon, and several robbery cases where he has threatened workers with knifes and a gun.
The thug was trying to steal the shop’s owner, Mr Tony Singh’s takings by ambushing him in his car. He smashed the window with the butt of the knife, but Mr Singh fought back and Kilroe was stabbed with his own knife during the struggle. Kilroe staggered backwards and died in a pool of blood.
Kilroe, 25 years old, was on the run after being charged with two other robberies. When police arrived at the scene, Mr Singh was sat in his car in a state of shock and suffering from knife wounds to his back, face and neck and yet he was arrested.
After being arrested, Mr Singh was taken to hospital where his wounds were stitched before being questioned for several hours and then released.
Lancashire Police confirmed that a file had been sent to the Crown Prosecution Service to consider whether murder, manslaughter or assault charges should be brought against Mr Singh.
Can you believe it! I can understand that in these sort of cases arrests have to be made until there is a clear picture of what has actually happened but I can guarantee that if Mr Singh is actually charged there will be a public outcry. This poor man who has been attacked by scum for money he has worked hard for and gets injured trying to defend himself deserves a medal not a criminal record, Kilroe got exactly what he deserved, good riddance!
